Parenting in the 21st century has come with its unique challenges, especially over the last few years. The lives of families have been reshaped. We have been confronted with unprecedented uncertainty and the need to reframe expectations for children – and ourselves. However, the circumstances also offer opportunities for growth and possibilities, leaving the space to reimagine life going forward.
But what exactly does this mean? What are reasonable expectations for our children – and for ourselves? How do we raise children to be healthy and productive in a world that is in the process of redefining itself?
And, very importantly, how do we as parents stay regulated, manage our own feelings, and fortify our well-being?
Reflective practice allows us to develop a way of understanding of ourselves and others that supports the development of workable strategies, healthy decision-making, and better relationships.
